I have an HP LaserJet 8150 PS on a network, and it has been working well for quite some time. But two days ago, there was a problem with the server's IP address (it got changed automatically when I was installing an external modem) and all computers on the network could not access them (the server or the network printer). When I changed the server's IP address to the original one, the computers on the network started 'seeing' and accessing the server, but the network printer can not print up to now. It just brings up a message 'Ready' but does not print. What could be the problem? If anyone can help, please do so.
P/S: If I have to reinstall the printer drivers, will I have to set the printer on each network computer again? |

If the printer is using a HP Jet Direct, I'd assign it a static IP, then add a new standard TCP/IP port (2K/XP) or HP TCP/IP port (9x) on each workstation using that IP. You won't have to reinstall the printer. I don't like DHCP or BOOTP for print servers. If the Jet Direct is internal, you can change its IP with the front panel menus, otherwise you will have to know its current IP and use a web browser to get in and change it to static.
