Quick question for the pros
I bought a 200Gb HD for my computer for additional space, because my 80Gb HD is full of music.
Both of my HDs are ok for SATA, but the one currently in computer is connected with the ATA133 cable not SATA. Is there any problems that will arise if I change my current HD (80Gb) to SATA. I kind of look at it like I am changing the road from my HD to motherboard, so it should not matter. I want to be sure though so I figured I would ask first. Thanks Randy |

You can buy converter to run a PATA on a SATA port... but why not just leave the PATA in it's current location and use SATA for adding new drives? You won't gain any performace by converting and you take away a SATA port for future expansion. Plus, it just another added cost.
