HDD reboot before XP system start.

I started to try to format my new HDD with my new computer. Could not get it done for unknow reason.

I used the HDD in my hold computer, everything was fine so i installed XP PRO SP1 on it. Then i reinstalled the HDD in my new computer.

Now when come to start window i get the safe mode page all the time. I tried safe mode and normal mode, both don't work. In safe mode the HDD start to load the files needed then puff reboot before seeing windows interface. When i choose normal mode it's just reboot right away.

My system is :

Asus P5GD2
Intel P4 3.0EJ (530) 800FSB 1MB L2 cache Prescott
HDD Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 Ultra ATA 133
ATI Radeon X700 PRO 256MB DDR3
Micron 512 DDR2 memorry

I made some tested so far, here what i did.

I first unpluged the floppy and the DVD burner to have only the HDD to work on as i have the systeme installed on it.

Plug on a 80 wire i did:

no jumper grey wire plug use : result bios detected as third IDE Slave : no windows loading possible

No Jumper black wire plug use : result bios detected as third IDE slave : no windows loading possible

Jumper to DS grey wire plug use : result bios detected as third IDE master : windows safe mode page show up

Jumper to DS black wire plug use : result bios detected as third IDE master : Windows safe mode page show up

Jumper to CS grey wire plug use : result bios detected as third IDE slave : no windows loading possible

Jumper to CS black wire plug use : result bios detected as third IDE master : windows safe mode show up

I never been able to load the system.

Someone have an idea whats going on with my HDD cause when i plug it in my hold computer it start right away without any problems.

Do you have another 80 pin cable that you can test with? Could be that you have a bad drive cable.

Does the blue screen give anything else? Like an error code? If so, post it here and then we can point you towards a fix.

Me thinks your problem is the fact that you loaded the XP on the old machine first. Ya can't do it that way. All the hardware drivers are now in conflict, like chipset drivers, etc. You need to do an over the top repair/install.
