Adapter for 20 pin ATX power plug to 24 pin

I just bought a new Intel socket 775 motherboard and processor. I got a surprise when i went to plug in the ATX power supply plug (the case is new also) and realised the motherboard has 4 more pins in the socket than the plug coming from the power supply. Can i get an adapter or do i need to get different power supply?

Here's what you need

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...145-002&depa=0

If you don't go with this one, read what you are buying. There are cables to hook a 20pin board to a 24pin PSU as well as the cables to hook a 24pin board to a 20pin PSU. The link is to the later. Though logic would dictate that if you have a more power hungry system a new PSU might be the safer route just in case. If your system is more standard (not a ton of hard drives and not SLI or an Ultra or XT of the current vid cards) this should be good.

Adapter not recommended unless the power supply is at least 450 watts and a quality brand, you should get a 24 pin power supply.

Let's put it this way - the Intel roadies all use 520 watt Vantec power supplies with a 24 pin connector for all the booth show machines. Intel is adamant about the 450 watt requirement if you use an adapter.
