Pissed tv card arrrrr

i have been on this problem now since october,

i have a HAUPPAUGE win tv primo fm tv card and the
card its self works fine but the computer will not detect the ir remote hardware. sometimes it will work ok for the 1st few reeboots but eventually it comes up with the IR error.

i have had this card in 4 different computers and the same problem occured in each computer . one of the computers i put it in already had the same tv card installed working perfectly, after doing a straight swap without reinstalling anything the computer gave the IR eror when i put the original card back in it worked ok again.

so i presumed it must be a falty card. i took it back to them and they tested it on 2 machines and say there is no problem. now they have said they r not going to spend anymore time on this the have fufilled their terms of service. meanwhile i still have a tv card with a remote control that doesnt work. and no more technical support!

can anybody make any suggestions as to my next move or even to solving the problem.

thanx in advance for any responses

Jimbob,
Not knowing the value of the tv card, and you have tested it
on several systems,IT,S a lemon and it sounds like the support is to.
you may have to swallow real hard and buy another.
as you say lifes a journey not a destination.
Hope all turns out well Pot......

Hi JIMBOB,

The place you bought this card from, they will not even exchange it? That is pretty bad service if they are not willing to help when the card is oviously not working. Have you tried contacting Hauppauge directly?

thanx for the replies

it was hauppauge i took the card to. the place i bought it from is miles away from where i live but the hauppauge office is closer thats why i took it there.

how could i make the card not work without making it look like intentional damage then they would have to replace it because it is still under guarantee.
