Sound card problem

Ok I have a problem. I am building a new system and every time i try to install my sound card i get a blue screen. My old system crashed and burned and the mb died. so I replaced it with a new mb and used the old hd. I did not reformat the drive as I had a lot of irreplaceable stuff on it. Before the old system died I had problems with the sound card blasting away loudly, i shut it down and could not get it up again.
So i took the old drive and put it in the new system and reinstalled the new drivers for my mb. When I tried to install the sound card it would not work and crashed the system. So I bought a new sound card. When i tried to install that card it crashed the system. I reformated the drive (gave up on the info) and reinstalled windows me. Installed the sound card and drivers restarted and got a message that boot sector was to be modified, or written to from my on board virus program. I thought this was part of windows so i clicked hit y as requested. as soon as windows came up computer said found new hardware the sound card found the soft ware and got a blue screen. Have I given myself a virus? Is it infected opn my mb now and can i get rid of it or do i have a bad mb.

System
abit kt7a-Raid
matrox g400 video
mushkin pc133 128 ram
maxtor 30g at100 hd
(have not set up raid yet)
sound blaster live, Turtle beach montegro. Vortex 2 sound cards all gave blue screens of death

Please help!

Go to here and read, this applies to a lot of sound cards but I knew this address http://www.voyetra-turtle-beach.com/...tp/5764029.asp
Also you may need to update your board drivers.

I would disable the OB virus until I get everything installed
properly.
Its possible that its interfering with the installation.
Oh yeah ........I installed one of the VORTEX cards not long
ago on an ASUS board. Ir would lock-up as soon as the sound
driver loaded at the desktop. You may have 2 copies of a file
named ASP4DOS.dll.One should be in the windows or windows/system
folder and the other should be deleted.
Boot into safe mode and use the start/find method to see if
there are two.
