Use DDR400 RAM on DDR266 mobo?

Hey everybody. I want to found out if i can use DDR400 ram on a ECS P4S5A mobo which is DDR266. I'll buy the ram now and buy the mob and stuff later when i have enough cash. or should i buy a real cheap mobo/cpu combo and ram at same time? Feel free to express your opinions. THanx
