DVD rom not working

I have a DVD/CD-RW combo drive...I used to use and suddenly my DVD-rom stopped working..i have no clue of what happened..do any of u guys have any ideas...

Have you checked the device manager to see if theres a yellow or red 'x' by it or if its there at all. I would try looking in the case and see if theres a loose connection, make sure the connections to the board are snug and the molex connector from the power supply.

I'm not sure but I think he means his drive's ability to read dvds is gone.
If that's it, and the drive will still do things like read cds, then the dvd lens is the culprit.
In that case he can try a lens cleaning kit and if that doesn't work he'll have to replace the drive.
I don't know what his budget is, or if he has a small form factor (sff) case, but if he can afford it he should get burner and a seperate dvd-rom drive.
