-I'm having trouble with my father's computer. I installed a generic 52x 24x 52x Accesstek model 5205 and it worked fine until a few weeks ago. According to the files the proper driver was loaded and working but the control panel would not recognize it. I replaced the CD RW with an I/O Magic IDVD 16DD, loaded the Nero OEM suite and PowerDVD 5. The computer still insists that there is no drive D but I can access the burner by opening Power DVD. This doesn't make any sense. What am I missing or doing wrong??
-Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. |

If it's on IDE 2 by itself I would just delete the whole connection in Device Manager and force XP to recognize new hardware on restart.
