there are numerous programs out there such as speedfan which allow you to monitor your temps and fan speeds, some are free some are not but all of these programs are less accurate than the BIOS temps, there are likely more who will stop by and recomend good ones to you but speedfan 2.0 is great cause you ccan do some OCing with it, i forget the URL but you could just google it and find it

Just for your information, Motherboard Monitor is another popular temp/system monitor utility.

I use Everest Home Edition for reading my temps. On top of that it tells me pretty much everything else I would want to know about my computer. It's really user friendly to my opinion. I'll give you a link to a free download in case anyone is interested.

Will an LCD display screen do the job? What temps does it tell?

Those temp monitors that install into the 5.25" drive bays use temp sensors that have to be attached to what you want the temp reading from. You decide what you want to monitor, but most people want to know the CPU temp. A common problem with those LCD monitors is they don't come with good instructions on where and how to install the temp sensor.

gotcha, can they do multiple things? For instance, can they measure the temp of CPU and Mobo? Are they capapble of measuring temp of just the computer case itself?
