HD doesn't read 160GB!!
Hi, I have a seagate barracuda 7200.7 SATA / RAID 8MB HD at format time with (W2K) it says this in the setup ...
C:NTFS 152617 MB (152074 MB FREE) ON 131070 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on Bus 0 on atapi 1st setup screen: 131070 mb Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi C:NTFS 152617 MB (152074 MB FREE) My question is.. is this correct? Why does a 160 gb HD say less an amount i.e. 131070??? Thks for your help.

I'm not sure if Windows 2000 supports the new 48-bit LBA addressing scheme. Without it, you are limited to 36-bit LBA, which means the maximum capacity that the OS can use is 137 GB. It may help you to slipstream Service Pack 4 into your Windows 2000 setup CD.

Correct - SP4 required for Win2K to break the 137gb barrier. You can use Partition Magic after the fact to expand the partition.
