Cas Latency questions

wich is better cas latency 2 or cas latency 3. ive read some forums saying that cas latency 2 rams were faster.but why are they cheaper then cas latency 3 rams. i was thinking about getting the corsair value select 2-512 mbs from newegg.so can some one tell me wich one should i get.

The lower the latency the better. 2 is better than 3.

It's all about marketing and the price of the chips. You'd have to ask the manufacturer that question.
