MP3 player options

I got a Creative Labs Jukebox Zen Xtra 40gb MP3 player for Christmas 2004. The warranty was 3 months, but my visa doubles the warranty. Creative might not warranty my MP3 player. They are looking into it. After just these 6 months, I've already gotten data corruption, data saving improperly to the drive, buttons randomly not responding, and a scroll switch that doesn't stop scrolling down once you touch it. If I can't get this one repaired/replaced I want to know what would be the best option for a new MP3 player. The quality of my MP3 player was rather disappointing. I don't know if it was just mine, but I don't think much of Creative's quality in MP3 players. I know that Apple's iPods are the craze right now but so many have battery problems and they are overpriced. So I was wondering what other MP3 players are worth looking into.

Tigerdirect.com has an mp3 player on sale for 10 dollars the catch is that it uses those memory cards for cameras

I have never used one but it may be worth the investment as long as it works since you wount care about loosing it too much

I have a Conia, I use it like a flash drive basically. It plays music fine though, I've used it for that once or twice on long bus trips.

Even though you said you don't want an iPod due to battery troubles, I will say that I've had my iPod for over a year and no battery troubles at all. When I'm not using it, it's sitting plugged into my computer and I love it. I use it to back-up some files too. I know you said you didn't want one, but I thought I would give my two cents.
