SATA HDD and IDE DVD Connections

This may be a silly question but I prefer to ask before I do.

I am in progress with a new build. My HDD is an SATA drive. My DVD is an IDE device. My motherboard is equipped with native support for SATA. I have connected the HDD to SATA1. I am connecting the DVD using the IDE cable. Is it OK to connect this to the primary IDE connection on the Mobo, or do I need to use the seconday IDE connector?

mobo: ASUS P5RD1-V Socket T (LGA 775)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA NCQ ST380817AS 80GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

DVD Burner: NEC Black 16X DVD+/-R DVD Burner support Dual Layer, Model ND-3520A

Primary IDE is fine. You just have to be mindful of your bios boot order and make sure both devices are seen by the bios.
