nero and dvd writer problem

hey guys, i just recently installed my pioneer 105 dvd writer on my other PC, cause i just got a 109 DL writer. when i try and back up my data, (files and folders) using DVD-ROM ISO mode, when it comes up to writing it on the blank media, it stops at 1% and doesnt go forward. i updated the driver, i tried uninstalling nero. its the latest version. still nothing. the writer worked in my other PC. what is it. the error says.

"A non critical error occured during the operation, which may result in a defective write. "

what is it.

the jumper settings for the dvd writer is master slave, and the cd rom is set as secondary slave. the dvd writer is using the same data cables as the cdwriter which the dvd writer replaced. the data cable is shared with the HD.

and the cd rom is using a seperate data cable.

is it my settings or connections.

i also tried using STOMP Record Now MAX, it stops at 98%

even when just backing up using CD-R blanks. the same. i tried uninstalling and installing again. cause i wanna format the PC, cause my sister has alot of crap in it and she's complaining that its getting slow.

its the latest Nero. the writer worked on my PC, can u help with the connections.

i have a 40gb HD, and the writer and a cd rom. i cam remove the cd rom cause she doesnt really need it any more.

can i use the same data cable for the dvd writer and HDD. or is it better to use a seperate one. and with the jumper settings on the writer, i set it as master slave right?.

is there any thing in bios i have to configure.

everything is the latest firmware and versions

thanks

If you have a "seperate" channel, then yes, use it for the burner. Drives can be either Master, or Slave, but not both at the same time. Make sure your jumpers are not set for both as this will cause problems.

Keep the HD on the first channel, and put both opticals on the second channel. Make the DVD burner the Master, and the other drive the Slave.

Let us know how it works

i got it working.

"Gettin your DVD ROM drive to work

Heres The FIX:
Navigate to your device manager located in you system; in your control panel...Once there, click on "ATA/ATAPI controllers" open: "Secondary IDE channel" click the "Advanced Settings" tab: If your DVD-ROM is the master and your CD-Writer\Rom is a slave change the device 0: Transfer Mode to "PI0 Mode" in the drop down menu... or if your CD-Writer\Rom is master and your DVD-ROM is slave (which is really rare) change the device 1:transfer Mode to "PI0 Mode"in the drop down menu... Then restart your computer even if it doesn't ask you to!

once restarted... Test!! and have fun... "

yep, i dont know what those stuff means, but yeah, can i also ask guys something,

the computer has a 40gb 5200rpm HD, my PC has a 60gb 7200rpm and a 120 gb 8mb HD,

my sisters PC is so slow, even after i format the HD, from booting up, to normal operations, and to shutting down, not liek my pc whihc from goind to start menu, and other normal operations, it slow.

her pc is a P4 2ghz
512 PC2100
and 40gb 5200 HD

mine is a P4 2.4ghz
512mb PC2700 ram
and the 2 HD's

is there really alot of difference from jst using word, and normal operations. no games or graphical applications

can the bios effect the performance, cause when i bought the Pioneer A05 dvdwriter, at the start, it was so slow in booting up, it took a huge 5mins to boot up. then the computer shop changed the data cable of the dvd writer and Hard drive data cable and it fixed it,

is there different types of data cables.

thanks
