HDD recognized in BIOS, but nowhere else (PROBLEM SOLVED)

Hey all.

I was trying to instal Linux this evening, and ran into a problem.

When I installed windows and such, I was having problems jumpering both my HDDs, and my ODDs. (All IDE drives). Because of this, I just disconnected the second drives, so that I had one ODD, and one HDD. I did this just so I could install windows, I figured that I would work out the problem later.

Anyway, I went to go reconnect the other HDD today so that I could instal Linux on it. It showed up in BIOS correctly, so I booted Windows. When I did so, I had to changed the drive that was jumpered as slave, and in the slave position to 1st Drive so that it would show up in the boot order selection. Windows booted fine, but the Master drive didn't show up, dispite the fact that when I logged on, it said "New Hardware Found" and had the correct Make/Model # of the second HDD that I had just connected. I was confused, so I just inserted the first linux disk, and rebooted. I adjusted the boot order and began instaling linux.

When it came to choosing where to put it, or to partition a drive, it only showed the slave drive...

The drive jumpered as slave, and is in the slave position on the cable is a Maxtor.

The drive jumpered as master, and is in the master position on the cable is a Hitachi...

Any help you could offer would be wonderful.

EDIT: Apologies, I fixed the problem and partitioned the drive in Device Management.
