How Do I Set Up For Two HDDs

I bought a Seagate 80 gb HDD to repalce my failed 60 gb Hitachi/IBM drive. Now I received a remanufactured Hitachi drive under warranty and I would like to use it as a slave just for file storage.

Should I jumper both drives to cable select with the new Seagate at the end of the 80 wire EIDE cable to make it the master?

Or should I jumper the Seagate to master and the Hitachi to slave?

With 80 wire cable, no matter how you set them up, jumper both drives to cable select.

Yes...and place the Hitachi on the middle connector...that's the slave position.
