SATA Problem at turn up

I am trying to turn up a new build but XP doesn't detect my HDD.

mobo: ASUS P5RD1-V Socket T (LGA 775) ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 ATX Intel Motherboard

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA NCQ ST380817AS 80GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

My mobo has an SATA controller and ports resident on the board. Do I still need to install the drivers or am I ready to go? I connected my drive to SATA1 with an SATA cable and used the SATA power connector.

I did not include a floppy drive in the build. If the drivers are missing, is there a way to install them with out a floppy drive? During POST the drive appears on the start screen. SATA is enabled in BIOS. I only have one HDD so I was't setting up a RAID array. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

JB

I pulled a floppy drive from another computer and made the driver install disk and the OS install is proceeding. Having one little problem after another. Mostly user errors

But right now XP is finishing the install. Keeping my fingers crossed.
