Lotsa Fans, Still too loud

I just installed 4 80x80x25 fans by Silent Fan. They seemingly are very silent and I felt the case and it was pretty cool, however my system CPU fan is still pretty loud.

I am using the fan the the P4 3.0 LGA775 CPU came with on a Gigabit mobo. The fan seems to be running pretty loud even when there are no programs running and even when the inside of the case feels relatively cool.

Isnt the fan supposed to slow down once a certain temperature is reached?

Either way, Is there a way to slow the fan down anyway? A possible program that does this may be helpful.

SpeedFan will do that I believe. You have to be careful though because if you slow the fan down too much it can cause damage. I'd go for an aftermarket CPU cooler.

Hmm is it normal for me to have:

Fan1: 3590 RPM
Fan2: 2033 RPM
Fan3: 0 RPM

Temp1: -55C
Temp2: -2C
Temp3: 57C
HD0: 27C
HD1: 37C

That looks normal to me. The best way to quite your PC would be an aftermarket cooler. I installed on and it made all the difference.

Oh okay, yeah I might look into that.

It just seemed a -55C didnt look to probable =P Im assuming fan1 went with temp 1 which could be my CPU.

I have no progams running just in case my comp decides to explode.

It's 55C not -55. I don't know why the "-" is there but there's no way you would have -55C unless you were using liquid nitrogen to cool it.

No, not necessarily. Not all motherboards or CPU heatsink fans will do that.

If you want to reduce the noise from the computer you may have to replace the stock Intel heatsink with something from Zalman. They're known for making quiet running heatsinks.

Check out Quiet PC for more info on reducing the noise from your computer.
