I installed Clonecd and now both of my dvd burners are gone!!

I found an old copy of clonecd while looking through a bunch of old cd's and decided to install it and use the virtualdrive feature. I'm a gamer, I play doom 3, far cry, half-life 2, and grand theft auto san andreas/vice city a lot and I would save time by copying all of my games and running them to my hard drive.

But anyway, all of my hard drives show up in exlporer, but not my dvd burners. My dvd burners do show up in device manager, but that's it. what can I do before I wipe the drive clean and start over?

You could uninstall the software and roll back to your most recent restore point.

Maybe try this. I haven't seen your particular problem before, but it's helped in many other situations where the optical drives don't show up.

Your games are already on the hard drive. When you start the game it only reads a small file on the disk to start the game. Download and install a small program for each game called a "game fix" you can find with a search engine. That way you don't have to risk scratching the disk inserting it every time and it is quicker too.
