Psycho Keyboard Qu'est Que Ce?

Hi folks,

On an old Tiger "Pro 550" with Win98,

Today when I press for example "e" it types "edd3" or "t" I get "rtfg4".

Tried changing the keyboard but that doesn't help. There is a "1" light lit up on the keyboard itself but I don't have the manual to tell me what this means if anything.

Probably I just inadvertently changed a setting? Any ideas on how to cure it?

Shut the power off, swap the keyboard. If it's still flaky, the motherboard has seen better days. The "1" light is just the numlock indicator.
