Special Powersupply for new comps?
Do you need a special powersupply (a regular one that comes with your case, or a model that is a year old [you are buying it new, its just now a new model if you know what i mean]) if you are going to have a pcx16 system?
Also, do you need a special lga motherboard if you are going to go with intels 600 series? Does SLI need a special power supply? Thanks.... |

PSUs for SLI and PCI-E do require the newer type. They have 24 pin main power connector and should be two rail 12v. Some SLI video cards recommend SLI certified PSUs. And these supplies are in the 500 to 680W range.

They do not NEED dual rails, but it's highly recommended. There are some reasonably priced decent quality dual rail units available now.
