Computer wont boot, no boot screen, no beep...

Hello, I am having major problems with my Computer.
A while ago, in the middle of 3d gaming my computer locked up and the monitor went to standby mode. When I turned comp off and back on, the screen was blank..
All the devices were still working (Hard drive, fans, dvd-drive all still spinning) but the screen was blank... no boot screen or beep... I tried unplugging all the devices one by one and got down to the motherboard and the processor and still nothing at start-up (I also tried an alternate monitor and got same result)... so i bought a new motherboard and power supply and im still getting the same problem.. i really hope my processor isnt burnt out ( Im not too familiar with installing motherboards so i didnt mess with the jumper settings... but im getting the same problem that i had with my old MB and its jumper configuration....

Any suggestions?

any idea on what the cpu temp was before it locked up?

did you have the case open for any reason before it locked? you might have knocked the heatsink loose.

i would say its your cpu, it might have fried but wait for other replys to know for sure.

I doubt a Celeron would overheat unless you did some serious overclocking or the heatsink fan failed or something. You wasted money on a mobo and PSU- Its likely to be a video card problem, did you overclock it?

I didnt waste money on my motherboard, I upgraded from a crappy PCChips MoBo with only 2 mem slots (it had to be done anyway) and the power supply was free. I replaced the graphics card after the problem started... yes my case was open while the error happened and since then ive removed the heatsink and the cpu fan several times... and no, I did not overclock my CPU.

Check your voltages- if its a PSU that came with your case, then it may be giving inaccurate voltages and damaging your components. Also two memory slots is quite normal
