Customized Notebook

Hello, I know that it is relatively simple and that possibilities are endless when it comes to decking out a desktop. I was wondering about notebooks though. I mean, I know that there would be a few more limitations, and also that some modifications may impede the portability of the device itself, which for some people may just seem plain retarded. But still, a lot of notebooks look so boring that it is a wonder some of them sell at all. What are some things that a person could do to trick out there laptop? Custom paint job? adding rubber grips here and there? Add some of those string uv lights like some people mount inside their cars? What else could we come up with? Has anyone ever looked into this before? I would really like to see/hear opinions and pictures, or other websites. Thankyou.

These things look kind of cool...

I've never used one so I don't know how easily they go on, or if they stay on.

Maybe a weather station wih a popup windvane, anemometer, relative humidity and barometric pressure guage? That would look pretty high tech.

I'd stick to skins and other decals. Be aware that adding any kind of modifications to the case such as lights would void a warranty.

I was thinking of giving mine a paint job. I cool burnt orange fleck would look pretty sweet. I thought about doing the light thing to but I figured it would cut down on that precious battery time.

If you do use Lexan not acrylics, also it is a bit hard since a lot pf the stuff mounts to the underside, the best thing to do is to cut the plastic where it is just covering and not holding anything and insert a window there

Unless you want to build it yourself, they don't exist for notebooks.

notebooks dont really use "motherboards" they use system boards. Basicaly like a motherboard but graphics, sound, and everything else except for drives is all integrated into one board.

Generally not, as with a desktop interchangability is desirable, whereas with laptops portability is the primary driver, and it saves space to just stick to the same specs.
