dead floppy
here's the problem, i moved some files from my HDD to a floppy that my father uses to backup his proposals, and invoices. Less than 30min later, he goes to access this disk and no luck. MS Word tells me that the disk may not be formatted, and win explorer asks me if i want to format the disk. Now i know it was formatted because i was just using it. It's not the drive because i tryed other floppies and they work fine.
is there any way to recover the files from this disk???? |

are both computers using xp/ or the same O/S ?
I have run into this before, a floppy formatted and files written to it with a w98se system may not be reconized with a system with xp on it and visa-versa, I remember a thread on this but don't remember the why. Last edited by bailey; 07-31-2005 at 10:04 PM. Reason: up-date |

this disk has been used on a different computer in the past, but both machines are XP pro, and it was the same machine that i used it on today then wouldn't work less than an hour later.
