If price was no object , which would you choose? The 3700 san diego is clocked higher then the x2 3800 (x3800 is really a 3200 for single threaded apps). The 3700 overclocks real well , in comparison the x2 3800 may or may not overclock as high but has a second core. For games , the 3700 is faster right now , but would the x2 3800 be fast enough for todays games and a better choice seeing that it will support multithreaded games later? Which is the better choice?

Well what are you going to use it for? The 3700 is much better for games and the X2 is better for multi-tasking. Multi-Threaded games may never exist and if they do, they're a long way off, by which time the X2 will be old.

Good point Ror , I think I'll go with the 3700 san diego. Price is going to be 270 for retail very soon.
