UMAX Astra 3600
Hey guys,
my brother got this scanner while i was in the US and lost the CD, this works fine on his computer, he opens up photoshop, goes to file>import>astra and then he presses scan and there he goes.. i think its via twain driver or however it goes.. anyways, can someone hook me up with the drivers needed to do the same ? hes moving out so ill take it into my room and my computer.. maybe i can find the drivers on his computer somehow ? Thanks, KoMoDo edit: ive looked everywhere for this, only found something called Astraslim twain drivers and they didnt work out either... |

You have to BUY a new CD from Umax. Drivers are not available for download.

are u serious... isnt there a way i can get the drivers from my brother's computer ? damn.. umm is there a label online to see how the disc looks maybe i can find it somewhere.. it SHOULD be in my house.. if no choice ill call them damnit..

I'm serious, which is why I stopped recommending Umax scanners when they implemented this policy. This is lousy support if you ask me.

extremely lousy.. what about Astraslim is that it ? i got some of those and installed and didnt work. theres a few driver siets out there which have alot of models but none of mine.. my brother only got it cause my dad and me and my mom were on a sabaticcal and my dad got some important docs so my brother scanned some from time to time and sent us.. its not the best scanner, 600x1200 dpi which is pretty lame me think.. but what can u do, better than nothing. very strange indeed...

ok good news guys i found the CD it has all the stuff needed but i just installed the drivers, im dling stuff so im not restarting the computer yet, itll work for sure but ill confirm this prolly tomorrow when ill be able to restart the computer. this rox :-P
