How do I burn full retail pc games to a dvd that have more than 1 game cd

I was wondering how to take a pc game that uses 3 cds and combine them all onto a dvd and make the game run from the dvd where I do not need to put in the cd's i can play and install the game from the dvd.

Id like to see the outcome of this thread. One of my favorite games, Star Wars KOTOR is 4 cd's. Would be real nice to burn them all to one DVD for when I want to install it next. Or maybe there's a way to slipstream the expansion packs into a cd? I also like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. I have both expansion packs, which also makes it 4 cd's.

Has anyone tried doing this with DVD's to any sucess?

I would also like to be able to do this. The only problem I see is the encryption that games use these days (Safe Disc and SecureROM). The only program I've found that will do an exact copy (CD to CD) of any new game with all encryption intact is Alcohol 120%. I've backed up many of my games to CDs doing this, but never tried combining all CDs to DVD.

I've made extra cd's before, so my kids could play the game in the other room and not lose mine. The game would install just fine, but then when you would try to play it, it would say please insert game cd. A few times I was able to find a no cd crack, and other times, I would just give up and let her have my cd's after I finished the game.

I don't see myself playing NFS Underground 1 or 2 anytime soon, they don't have a real high replay ability with me, not quite as fun online either.

Remember the days where you had a series of floppies where you had to insert disk after disk? Then, all of data from those disks were burned to CDs with each disk having its own seperate folder(ie "Disk 1", "Disk 2", etc)

I'm guessing you could try something similar with the CDs on a DVD

I agree that this would definitely be a useful thing to have. The only way i can think of doing it is, as force flow says, having individual folders containing the contents of the respective cd images.

Try ripping the game CDs to an image, using Alcohol120, or Blindwrite...Then actually physically "unpacking" the ISO using winRAR, to a folder, then burning these folders to a DVD using Nero.

Although theoretically you should be able to install the game this way, I don't know how the install programme will react when it asks you to insert the next disc, particuarly if the popup doesn't have a "browse" option.

Moreover, I also doubt that it would play from the DVD, either...so the whole process still necessitates a "dodgy" workaround, in that sense.

Nice idea, probably a bit more trouble than its worth though, unfortunately. Unless anyone has other ideas!?!?

You can burn copies of games that have copy protection with Clone CD

Its an awesome program for making your backups that actually work.

So to be able to take 3 pc game cds and put it on 1 dvd would I have to take the game files and make them into one big iso then modify the autorun.ini file to point to the disc.
