A8N-E Audio connections

I have an ASUS A8N-E mobo.
My case (Sonata II) comes with front audio plugs (along with the built in ones on the mobo).
If I connect those front plugs to the mobo, will that automatically disable the rear audio plugs?
Do I have to manually disable them?
Can I use either the front or the back? both?

here's a photo of the plug and connector.
Why are some of the prongs blocked by the blue caps?
there are more connectors than available prongs.
any idea what goes where? (i know where to connect gnd and mic pwr)
