Aprox. price I should be willing to spend for a good mouse.
Wht is the price range I should be looking at for a good mouse?
I do desigining with Photoshop and Dreamweaver/Fireworks and also am a mild gamer. I dont need the top of the line but want something pretty good that is quick in movements for photoshop and gaming. Its not that big of a deal be it wireless or not either. Currently I have Microsoft Trackball which sucks for desining and gaming so not wnating a trackball type. Any opinions are also open but a price range would be great too. |

Anything optical from logitech is pretty inexpensive. if youre not concerned with cordless/corded, then just get a corded logitech optical and save yourself the couple extra bucks. You can get different models from logitech. some are standard 2-button w/wheel design, some are specially designed for hand comfort and with extra buttons. those are a little more expensive, but for graphic desighning/games, its probably worth the extra bucks.

Do you want wireless or wired? Logitech and Microsoft both make great mice. I have a Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse and it works great. I'm thinking about going with a wireless mouse. If I do it will probably be a Logitech because I don't like the smooth scrolling on the MS wireless mice.
Here are a few good models other than the one I liked to above: Wired Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1 Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Logitech B58 Logitech UltraX Logitech MX310 Wireless Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 4.0 Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer Logitech Basic Wireless Optical Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Logitech MX1000

I'd check out the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse. It is wired but it allows for on-the-fly sensitivity changes. Using the two buttons on top of the mouse, you can go to 400psi,800 and up to 1600.

That's a good price range, though you can get a good mouse for around $20 you can get a fancier one for $35-40.

I personally like trackballs, perhaps you should investigate those. The one I have Microsoft don't make any more, I have to buy them from England

For photoshop i'd use any old mouse and invest in a Wacom pen tablet instead.
