new main hard drive

I am getting a new SATA hard drive to replace my old IDE drive. I want to put the old ide drive to use in an external enclosure and make it portable. I'm sure there is a program to copy everything, including the OS, from my old drive to my new drive, right? can some one give me a program to do this please?

specs
mobo: ABIT IC7-G
old HDD: WD 1200JB
soon to be new HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax 10
OS: Windows XP sp2

Ghost, Drive Image or True Image are imaging utilities that will do what you want.

Or you can go to the hard drive manufacturer's web site and get the hard drive preparation software, these usually have a drive imaging utility as part of the package.
