Daisychaining External Hard Drives - USB and Firewire
I want to transfer my files from one external hard drive to the other external hard drive. The computer I have right now does not have any firewire ports.
The hard drive I want to transfer my files to is a LaCie D2 extreme triple interface external hard drive. This drive has both USB 2.0 and firewire connectivity. The hard drive I want to transfer my files from is a Maxtor external hard drive with only firewire input/output. I know I can daisychain firewire connections. But, can I connect my LaCie drive to my new computer using USB 2.0, then daisychain the maxtor drive to the Lacie drive using firewire? thanks all |

Does the computer have USB & a firewire connection? If so, just plug the drives in that way.

you can add a pci firewire card to the computer and go from there, they are pretty cheap.
