I have 2 Seagate Barracuda 160 GB drives in a RAID 0 stripe. One of the drives is failing, confirmed with a Seatools test.
Questions: 1. When replacing the bad drive is it a simple swap and plug in the new one or not? 2. Can I use a larger capacity drive or do the capacities have to be identical? 3. What is the professional opinion regarding Hitachi drives? Or what would you recommend? How do I rebuild the RAID if I decide to go with 2 larger capacity drives? 4. I have a Lacie D2 Bigger Disk 1TB that continuously refuses to detach using Safely Remove Hardware (It's always busy, try later) and more importantly it also continuously displays Delayed Write Failed errors. Lacie support don't bother responding. Thanks. |

Guessing you know that part about lose one drive lose all data. Meaning once you set the raid back up you have to do a fresh install.
