Question Problem with SanDisk Flash drive

I have a Sandisk 256mb Cruzer mini and it used to work fine, but now when I plug it into the USB port (1.1) on click on Removable Drive H: it pops up an error that says, "Please insert a disk into Drive H:".

It used to work fine but about two months ago it started doing this and I just thought I dropped it a few too many times, but if I open the Removeable Drive folder 1-2 seconds after I plug it in I can see all my files I had on it before it closes the window and pops up the error.

I've tried formatting it and exploring it but XP doesn't seem to recognize that there's storage in the flash drive, just a place where storage can go.

UPDATE: I seemed to have fixed it buy putting it on my 98 box and being able to format before it read the files.
