CD RW Drive Cache and read speed question

Hello,

I wanted to know how the Cache size( 2MB or 8MB) and CD_R ( 48X or 54X) speed affect the game or gameplay?

I also don't really understand how the Cache works on a CD RW or CD ROM so if you could explain that to that would be great.

The cache on the burner drive keeps temporary stores of instructions from RAM, it will make burning slightly quicker since the CPU can access the drive's cache instead of main system RAM. 48x and 54x speeds are quite speedy.
