Question Thermal Pad

Just got a new cpu, AMD 64 4000+. One corner of the thermal pad on the heatsink is a bit scratched with a small amount of the material missing. Will this affect the cpu?

If it's just a bit of the corner, I don't forsee any problems, infact that corner probably wouldn't be transferring very much heat anyways, most of the heat is concentrated in the center of the CPU where the die is.
