I bought the following for a new build (from Newegg):
--ASUS MB P5WD2 Premium Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 955X ATX Intel Motherboard --GIGABYTE GV-NX68T256DH Geforce 6800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card --Western Digital 10,000rpm Raptor 37GB Hard Drive --[2] Crucial Ballistix 512MB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) System Memory (RMAed for different RAM) --Crucial Ballistix 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) System Memory - OEM --Intel Pentium 4 630 Prescott 800MHz FSB 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 EM64T Processor --Aspire X-Navigator ATXA8NW-AL/500 Silver/Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply --Memorex 52x CD-RW (purchased from local retail store) --Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L300S0 300GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM --Cyber Acoustics CA-3550 68 watts 2.1 Speaker - Retail --Ideazon Zboard Gaming PW1USE1-B3ZBD01 2-Tone 108 Normal Keys 17 Function Keys USB Wired Standard Keyboard - Retail --Logitech MX510 931179-0403 2 tone 8 Buttons 1x Wheel USB + PS/2 Optical Mouse - Retail --HP PSC 1410(Q7290A) Up to 18 ppm 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi Color InkJet Multifunction/All-In-One Printer - Retail ___________________________________________ **I have the new WD 10K Raptor HD (sata) with nothing on it. **I have the new Maxtor HD (sata) with nothing on it. **I carried over from my old system a Samsung SV6003H HD (IDE). It had Win XP Pro on it already and boots normally in my old system. _____________________________________________ I am getting Stop 0x0000007B ( 0xF7C46528 , 0xC0000034 , 0x00000000 , 0x00000000 ) error message when trying to boot my new build. I have tried each hard drive hooked up seperately and installing Windows XP Pro over the top of each HD (I cannot get it to install, same stop error). The installation process is halted before I get to the selection screen (Complete Reformat, Repair, Create a partition). My BIOS recognizes the Hard Drives and everything appears to be OK but then it errors out to the BSoD with the stop message. None of the "fixes" I have found have helped my problem. I have RMAed the RAM, Video card, and motherboard to try and solve this issue and it has not helped. I need some assistance or I will be forced to return all of the merchandise I purchased as it does me no good if it does not work. Any info is greatly appreciated. I have been dealing with this problem for a month now. /cry Thanks! |

Try taking out everything except one stick of ram, video card,cd drive and cpu. You should take the IDE drive and put back into the old computer and do a zero fill to completely wipe the drive(killdisk works), Then put the newly cleaned drive in to the new PC and try loading XP.

I am skeptical of wiping out my old hard drive because I am using it in my old PC so I have a PC to work with. I only carried it over initially to save money but I went out and bought the Maxtor 300 to take it's place. If I wipe my old drive out I will lose some software and a PC that I would rather not do unless completely necessary. EDIT: to mention I tried installing Raid drivers yesterday to see if for some odd reason... This Mobo has what they term Sata on the go...it runs the Sata initially as enhanced IDE so the need for Sata drivers should not be an issue. The "How to troubleshoot stop errors" link is something I have been over extensively and found not help in there. I greatly appreciate the feedback as I haven't had anything to go on in weeks... I will try formatting the old IDE as a last resort but not sure why my new build isn't liking Sata or IDE for formatting purposes...Please advise... Last edited by Aedh; 09-25-2005 at 11:01 AM. |
