greedo Laser Mouse Surfaces Question..

Ok, I plan on getting a Logitech G5 Laser mouse (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104191) and a X-RAYPAD THUNDER mouse pad (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817114136) would the mouse do well on this pad? Or should I change the pad? Thanks.

I don't see why it wouldn't do well. I don't even use a mousepad

as long as the surface is smooth its fine. i use a optical on a timber desk, due to chips here and there the cursor would jump of the screen, but if i put a piece os paper under it works fine, a pad with a wristrest would be good though.

It should work fine. Optical mice usually have trouble with reflective/glossy surfaces but laser mice are supposed to be much better with this.

Dell appearently didn't notice the problem. At my high school there are a lot of newer Dell PC's that came with optical mice. The Dell mousepads are reflective and textured. They don't work at all! The mouse jumps all over the screen. What really surprised me is how few people notice and think it's normal.

Same exact thing at my school, the pads are useless, actually slow the mouse movements down. I have one mousepad that does the same with my optical at home, so I just use a solid black surface instead. I am not to sure on laser mice, but like everyone else said, I hear they are more flexible to the surfaces they work on.
