old scanner installation problem
hey guys,
my friend just told me hes trying to install his scanner or something (i presume his drivers, he doesnt know anything about comps) and he gets this error http://img433.imageshack.us/img433/7528/waseem8fd.jpg he thinks if i send him MY system.drv file itll fix the prob but im really not sure.. either way he says he has no system and system32 dir.. i told him to write the line c:\windows\system32 and he says it says theres no such directory.. wadda u guys think ? hes on win xp and his scanner is a MUSTEK 600 Thanks, KoMoDo |

He maybe can't find them because Windows hides it by default. Either that or it was upgraded from 2000 or NT, then it will be c:\winnt instead of c:\windows. Also, his Windows may be on another drive than C.
Confirm the EXACT model and see if there are XP drivers at mustek.com - if not, get a new scanner or manually try to add it from a pick list. It looks like he is trying to install Win95 drivers or something. |

alright.. so theres nothing to do with that system.drv file ? just find a newer set of drivers ? ill let him know not to mess with the .drv file then
