Ricochet Wireless
Has anyone tried this service? Is it reliable? I've heard some bad things about wireless. Is it worth the Cable/DSL price of $45 per month?

Never tried it. From what I know, its 128K up and down and available in select metro areas. I do hear that Metricom is in financial trouble and the long term stability of the service is questionable. I think either cable or DSL will give you better bandwidth for the money, but if portability is an issue, Ricochet is the only game in town. We have Sprint Broadband Direct here for fixed wireless - it's very decent as long as you have good line of sight to the local tower and upload speeds aren't that important.
