200gb HD showing 30gb in WinXP Prof

I'm sorry if this is one of those problems that has a really obvious answer and is asked every day, but I searched for it and couldn't find anything quite the same. My friend's computer has a 200gb hard drive that is only showing 30gb of space. It appears that the bios thinks that the hard drive is only 30gb as well. He's running WinXP and has a DFI NFII Ultra Infinity motherboard. The harddrive, as far as I can tell, is a Hitachi 200gb IDE drive. (It also has "Deskstar" written on it) It's 7200 RPM. If it matters he is also running an Athlon XP 2000+. When I went to reformat it said that the partitioned space is around 30 gb and the unpartitioned 8mb. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I forgot to mention that it could be a BIOS limit, as in the stickied thread, but I searched google and could find no indication that there's such a limit on this mother board.

edit : Okay, on second thought it sounds like the drive should be checked with a diagnostic.
XP would only recognize 30 GB if the drive were formatted in FAT 32, the bios shouldn't be having any trouble.
Allburnintegrated is right about checking the jumper on the back.

Check the jumpers on the back of it. It's not on 'limit size to 32GB' or something like that, is it?

I never even thought to look at the jumpers, but they were infact, the problem. Thanks for the help.
