Speaker question
A friend of mine has told me about hooking up stereo system speakers to my system. He said all you need is a special cable. My question is what is needed to use stereo speakers on a compter system? Do I need a compatible sound card?
Thanks, astro |

You would need extremely efficient speakers to plug speakers directly into the sound card, because the speaker output on a sound card is very low power. It would work much better running the line output of the sound card to an aux input on a stereo system. You need a cable with a 3 conductor 1/8" mini phone plug on one end and 2 RCA plugs on the other end - Radio Shack would have all this kind of stuff.
