I would only paint plastic parts (i.e. side of slots such as PCI-e/AGP or DIMM)
I guess other than that, i would say just use common sence.

Be careful not to get paint on the connectors, that would probably render them useless. Like MakeYourslf said, just use common sense.

As long as you dont paint any connectors your good. Like the pins on a PCI slot, maybe put in a card that is useless so you can paint it without getting it on the pins, or just taping it off. Tape everything your not going to paint and you will be good. Also depending on what UV paint your getting, you can get it off with water, though on a mobo id use alcohol if you need to.

Try to find some reactive paint that is not a conductor of electricity. Then you're less likely to screw up and short your board.

If you use any paint that has metalic or metal flake in it, you could be in for big problems. I would mask the entire board and paint only the slots and various connectors, making sure to tape off any surfaces that are anywhere near the pins.

Also, stick with water based paint only. Other solvents in paints can eat plastic up pretty badly.
