Fan Controllers?

I need a fan controller. My case came with one, but, as I read in reviews even before I bought it, it is crap, and simply doesn't work.

If possible, one with 5 controllers, 4 fans and CPU, unless you would recommend leaving the CPU fanin the mobo, which I would assume, but still, I have seen many people want to leave it in the mobo, and many prefer to put it on a controller.

So, I need:

4-5 Fan Controls
Temperature Sensors
Display, obviously
Can be for 5.25" or 3.5" panel, if it is for a 3.5 I can simply buy the mount for a 5.25 that holds a 3.5 piece.

Under $50 would be great, I am having bad luck, I found a few but they have horrible reviews.

With that said, I need a quick check, but can go in the same thread, my case has 4 fans. An 80MM on both sides, and a 120MM on both the front and back, which ones should be intakes and which exhausts? Thanks.

Here's the one I used in my OC toy. It works fine for controlling the fans but all the wiring can be a bit cumbersome. Plus it has 4 temp sensors that adds to the wiring. The aluminum faceplate was a pefect match for my Antec P160 and the controller also came with a black faceplate. If you like lights, this one has em. All the knobs light up and the display is green or blue depending on which fan/temp controllers you're monitoring.

The temps sensors don't seem to match with the CPU and mobo sensors that are imbedded in the mobo but that could be where they are located.

Controlling the cpu fan can be tricky. Proceed with caution and make sure you keep an eye on the temp monitor until you establish some baseline idea of how much cooling is required to maintain proper temps.

Rule of thumb for fans. Rear is exhaust, front is intake, top is exhaust. Sides need to be tried in both directions to see which gives you the greatest benefit. Typically one side fan would be an intake, blowing directly on the video card.

Great, and its silver aluminum so itll match my case perfectly. Currently I only have 3 fans, but am getting a 4th in the same order as the controller, along with some other things. OC'd 1.81 to 2.16 my CPU is 44C and case 27C. The side fan I have is 80mm blowing in the case splitting between my cpu and ram, my back is a 120mm exhaust, front is another 80mm intake as well, but i was going to switch that to a 120 intake, then put that 80mm on the other side as an exhaust, they would both be by the HD, the way my case is. Anyways, thanks for the advice, will be going with that one and fixin my fans up hopefully in a few days, I <3 newegg. Great products great shipping.

You can also hook more than one fan to each knob, just make sure you check the amp ratings so you don't overload one lead. I set my case up so that the rear fans are on one knob, the fronts are on another, the top and sides are on the third, and the CPU has it's own.

Stupid but quick question...

Will the panel power the fans as well? If not I need to order a few power splitters for them, PSU only has 6, i have a cdrom, dvdrom, hd, the panel itself, 2 other fans that i wont be monitoring so those need powering, theres my 6. Thanks again

yes...you plug power into the panel and you hook the fans to the panel...

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but the item you are looking for has been deactivated. Here are some similar products that you may wish to consider:"

I was going to put in my order tomorrow when I could go to the bank... Figures, any other suggestions fitting my needs? I suppose I could order off of another site but newegg makes it so much easier and its dirt cheap. Thanks again

Sweet, think I'm gonna go with the one from computer geeks. That's weird because I was at that site looking and don't recall seeing that one. Granted I realized I only have 2 fans and my CPU. The 2 fans that came with my case that will be on the outsides don't have 3 pin connectors and I am too cheap to buy 2 new ones. Those ones are fine though not controlled, they're quiet and move a decent amount of air, its the 2 120mm fans I have for the front and back that need the controlling. Thanks

just get a 4-pin/3-pin convertor.... If you can catch, I'll throw ya a couple

Got a whole bag here of them I haven't used.....

I really like that controller....I think its really nice...plus it alternates temp and fan reading.... plus the time is nice..no more scrolling all the way down.. I was going the get the TGII superflower...but haven't seen it around...It was 35-39.00 but I like this one alot more....Enjoy

One tip about usimg a fan controller. If any of the fans have a variable speed switch, make sure you leave it in the high position or the fan might not get enough power to stsrt.
