What Temp

Hi everyone,

Just built a new system and ran sisoftware sandra, it gives me the following temps -
Board temp 22c/77f
CPU1 21c/71.6f
CPU2 69c/156f

Under performance tips it says that my mainboard temp is too high.
Do the temps look too high?
What is CPU2, I only have one CPU installed?

For cooling I have an Antec Sonata 11 (psu fan/ 120mm rear fan) and a Themaltake Golden Orb 11 cpu hs/fan.

Cheers, Mark.

If that CPU2 temp is accurate, then it is too high. What processor do you have? Did you check the temps in the BIOS? That would confirm it.

do you have a dual core? Yes cpu temp are way off, CPU2 should be at about 8-10C hotter than cpu1

The CPU temp in the BIOS is 25c.
The mobo is a Gigabyte G8-K8N-SLI which supports dual core,
the processor is AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm (939).

I have the alarm enabled in the BIOS for high CPU temps (above 60c), this has not gone off yet.

I too just built my first rig and when i run my temp prog my cpu 1 is about 5-10 degrees cooler then cpu2. I have an amd athlon 64 3500+. When i checked right after some high end gaming, cpu1 was at 46c and cpu2 was at 51c. Thats the highest i have seen it. Do i need better cooling? Is this a good temp to be at? I also checked the bios and they are about the same there.. it says the cpu is about 42-47c.

Also, what temp prog do you use to check?

Thanks
