Drive letter assignment prob w/ Zip & FDD
I'm having problems the drive letters assigned to a Mitsumi FDD w/ Digial card reader http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16821104104 that came installed in this ABS pc I purchased from Newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883102622 The mb is an ASUS K8N or K8N Deluxe. I purchased this IDE zip drive to add to the pc http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16840107129. I disconnected the FDD to get the cables out of the way while I installed the zip drive. Reconnected the cables and powered up. The drives are all accessible and working but in My Computer the drive letter assigned to the sd card reader on the FDD says "zip drive" and the acutal zip drive is given another letter and called "removable disk". In Win 98 you could go into device mgr and set the drive letters manually but that option doesn't seem to exist in Win XP. Anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance. |

You can assign drive letters through Disk Management.
Start> right click on My Computer> click Manage> click on Disk Management in the left window pane. Cricket
