Front case door is sticking out - Antec P180
The door that covers my front drive bays sticks out. It doesn't line up flush with the front edge of my case. If I push the front, it will move and go flat, but when i let go, it pushes out again. If I lock the door, it pulls the front back flush a bit, but i don't want to have to lock it. The door can go 270 degrees and my case is an Antec P180. Any body have any ideas? Its not really a technical problem, just a little annoying thing.
Jesus i spelt front wrong an aweful lot Last edited by Two|Bit; 11-14-2005 at 10:00 PM. |

Sounds like you don't have the slide rails in the correct mounting holes on the sides of the drives. The slide rails should lock the drives in place and you shouldn't be able to move the drives unless you release the side tension on the rail's release latches.

No... Im not talking about the drives... I mean the whole door that covers the front of my case. I has like bubbled out, so to speak. Its not fully closing and not lining up flush to the edge of the case. I guess it kind of hard to explain

Sorry bout the misunderstanding. I'm trying to find a pic that shows the case front open but everything seems to be showing the door closed.

Kinda hard to tell but is that a latch in the top left of the door in the 3rd pic? Looks like a post that engages a hole in the right front of the case. Possibly something broken/missing that the post is supposed to engage?

I know the post that you mean Panama but it engaged. Right at that point, the door is fine, but as you get further down from that post, the door begins to stick out until you get to the bottom, where it is fine again. Does anyone else have this case?
I should have put the name of the case in the title, but I can't edit now. Grrrr |

Antec p180's are great cases, but this bulge on the front door is pretty common for some reason. Contact Antec, they're usually good about sending replacement parts.

I can't say that for certain, but when a Sonata II I ordered arrived with a screwed up front bezel, Antec shipped me a new one.

Yeah I gave them an email and they replied with what my address was so that they could ship something to me
. they never said WHAT they were shipping, so im assuming IF they need to ship something they can use that.
