Digital Speakers
Hey all,
Somewhere down the road I will be looking into some better digital speakers, which of these 3 do you guys think would be best: Creative Labs DTT3500 5.1 ~$250 Altec Lansing ADA890 4.1 THX certified ~$250 Klipsch Promedia 4.1 THX certified ~$300 If I could choose one I would go with the Klipsch speakers, but they are about $50 more expensive than the rest. Is the $50 worth it, or do the others offer similar sound quality? Thanks in Advance! |

Flop,
Few people know this, but Altec Lansing has been designing speakers for some of the best manufacturers in the world including JBL, EV, Cerwin Vega and Polk. Although they no longer make home systems, you can't beat their better multimedia speakers. -Craig |

Thanks Craig,
Just saw this now, was on vacation last week. I currently have Altec Lansing ACS 56 digital capable speakers, and I got the digital out working on those as well, in case you hadn't read it in my other post. Down the road however, I maybe looking into a THX system, especially when I have my DVD-rom, and will look into Altec again. Thanks again for the info. |

Umm.. I don't think that the Klipsch are digital speakers.

Don't know -- but I do know that there are few if any non-digital THX-Certified multimedia speakers in this world.

I'll play Devil's Advocate (I honestly don't know what that phrase means but I want to say it) and vote for the Cambridge system. I have the FPS 2000 DIgital and its a 5-piece system and I love the hell out of it. My friend has some Altec flat-panel speakers and he likes mine much more. The DTT3500 (5.1?) is a 6-piece I believe and paired with a high-end Soundblaster Live!, I'm not sure how much better it can get. ALthough I've never tried them, I have heard excellent things about Klipsch's stuff... eventhough their commercials are stupid.
