AMD 64 upgrade - HSF question
I currently have in my system an AMD 64 2800+ socket 754 that I bought retail with heat sink and fan. I now have an AMd 64 3700+ that was OEM that I want to put in. My question is will the stock HSF that I got with the 2800 be enough for the 3700 or do I need a better one?

hmmm, hard to say. You can definatly put it on there and just watch temps and see how they are. As long as its under about 60c your good, though you might need to spend the money on a better hs.

I think your current heatsink will work fine since both processors use 1.50 vcore and the Athlon 64s don't run that hot to begin with. Just be sure you clean off the existing thermal pad or thermal compound from the heatsink and do a fresh application of thermal compound to the CPU and heatsink.
