installed telephone line at my camp---notebook (Compaq Armada 35oo PII-366) works fine with AOHell. Brought one of my desktops (homebrew Cyrix PR-200/63 ram/isa 56K v90 modem)--desktop dials to aol, handshakes but ceases at point screen says "connecting to network"--then, shows "failed to connect to access company"---brought desktop home where it connects just fine???
im going to change the desktop internal modem but am stimied as to why it wont work at camp location(where notebook works fine on same tele line)-- tx |

Why don't you try it again at a different time of day. Sometimes AOL (and other ISP's as well) gets incredibly busy at different times of the day and gives problems such as this. You just have to try again later.

Well the Cyrix pr-200 is a non-mmx machine. Some winmodems require the processor to be mmx. Maybe that is a requirement of yours.
